Things to Do in Lahaina

Discover All the Hawaiian Activities in West Maui

Favored by Hawaii's royalty for its climate, location, and surfing, Maui’s historic town of Lahaina has plenty of sights and activities for everyone. When planning what to see and do in Lahaina, familiarize yourself with the area by taking a stroll along Front Street with the ocean on one side and shops, galleries and restaurants on the other. Visit Lahaina Harbor to take whale watching (in season) and snorkel tours, surf lessons or fishing charters.

One of the most popular things to do when visiting Maui is taking the Historical Trail, a self-guided tour of 62 attractions, historical sites, and buildings that ends at Banyan Tree Park, home to the second largest Banyan tree in the world. On weekends and holidays the 145 year old tree is host to local artists, crafters and musicians. Historical points of interest in the Lahaina area can be easily explored by foot, and walking maps with recommendations on what to see are available at the Front Desk.
