One of the earliest restoration projects by Lahaina Restoration Foundation was Hale Pai. In 1834, students of Lahainaluna Seminary printed the first newspaper west of the Rockies, Ka Lama Hawaii. It is located on the Lahainaluna Campus, the first school west of the Rockies.
