About Us

We really are just a little inn. And we like it that way. Why? Because it allows us to do things differently, like getting to know our guests, and tailoring our service to meet your needs. We’re proud of the little “oasis” that we’ve built, and the restaurant that’s garnered numerous culinary awards around the country, and the guests who’ve “discovered” us and return year after year. We like all this because it feels like we’ve created a home. And our guests are a part of our family.

The Plantation Inn was originally constructed by a group of Canadian businessmen and first opened its doors to visitors in 1987. In 1997, the owner of Kaanapali Beach Hotel Sir Run Run Shaw of Hong Kong, China, purchased the property. From the beginning, Gerard’s Restaurant was established at the Inn and has been serving guests ever since.
